  • Hey, you can have some our snow! Much of NZ is under it right now which is highly unusual. Day off work for many people as we grind to a halt.

People cry, not because they're weak. It's because they've been strong for too long.

  • I'm very sad, just read the news that Vicco von Bülow aka Loriot died at the age of 87.

He was the finest humorist Germany ever had. I grew up with his sketches and his type of humour surely influenced my own sense of it. He was always subtle, never vulgar and he could make me laugh just by making faces to the camera. I always thought him to be very sophisticated, even when he did pure slapstick.

Couldn`t be said any better. Loriot was the gentleman among the humorists. He is leaving a gap nobody can actually close.

  • Had a bit of a strange experience at the gym this morning. Frequency came on my iPod and three people in hoodies walked past the window, one even had a horizontal striped one just like the cover shot on the album :?

  • Sunbathing and picnic in a park, by the cleaner, quieter Staines end of the Thames with g/f and collective sprogs, in October. Splendid.

  • 20 years ago I cut the aquaintance with someone who was a good friend of mine - his name was Peter Stuyvesant.
Nowadays I think about doing the same with another one who became a good friend, too - his name is Mark Elliot Zuckerberg.

So I am not going to create a Facebook account, right?

A colleague of mine was victim to heavy public internet mobbing, due to a verdict, he had spoken. People ripped a photo of him from his Facebook account and worked it over via photoshop. It all wasn`t particularly funny....

    Thomas,

in a way you're right - but I deliberately used the comparison with my long-time-ago passion to smoke. To express that fb can be a very addictive thing. That's what I have to think about.

The more I hear about FB the more pleased I am that I'm not on it. It's not for me. Even though I feel like I maybe miss out on stuff or hear about it late. Can anyone try to convince me?
