General Discussion of IQ and music in general

  • Considering the blistering gig it's very quiet on here.
    Magnificent.
    Even a new song.
And Herman Munster on Lead vocals.

You don't get more f'*kin Prog than that (you had to be there)

  • Can't remember the setlist, but there were no surprises. It was basically an almost 2 hour long greatest hits show.

It wasn't a spectacular show, nor was it the best IQ show I've ever seen, but it was a solid performance with an enjoyable song selection and amusing between-songs-banter (we now know the new album is going to be called The road of bones 2, or perhaps Subtworanea or Threequency).

  • No Surprises?
Didn’t they open the show with a new song?
… a lot of the projections seemed new ( to me at least) … including new IQ logo, albeit a temporary one.
….and Pete done a lot of swearing.
Great sound in what turned out to be a venue small enough to get up-close and personal.
I was particularly entertained watching IQ unload their own gear in the car park in the rain. How Prog is that?

All in all I was satisfactorily surprised….. :P

I'm gonna try anyway. Order is completely wrong though:
Outer limits, The wake, Widow's peak, Out of nowhere, The narrow margin, Guiding light, Frequency, From the outside in, The road of bones, Until the end, New song.

The new song was announced earlier, I think, so that they played it wasn't a big surprise. The song itself was of course, as was them starting the set with it. Didn't pay much attention to the projections though, I'm afraid.

  • Not sure where it was announced we were opening with a new track (or, to be accurate, a new work-in-progress) but personally I thought that was quite a surprising way to start our set. Herman Munster??

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I moaned on here a while back (it could be a good while back) about the fact that you never come to Wales.....

That'll learn me for staying away from here because it had become so quiet

Usually someone on the MOLF (Marillion forum) posts about exciting upcoming gigs but this one really slipped through the net...

weeps in corner, a broken man :(
