  • Oooh, I don't think I usually post on these threads as I hardly go to any gigs but i'm as giddy as a kipper so here goes....

THE LIBERTINES - January 23rd - Arena, Manchester
THE LIBERTINES - January 25th - Arena, Nottingham
THE LIBERTINES - March 1st - The Paradiso, Amsterdam
THE LIBERTINES - March 2nd - The Paradiso, Amsterdam

For me, that's a dream come true start to the year. You know when you love a band so much and then they split up? Then, many years later they manage to get back together and it's totally unexpected?

  • Whenever I read Aschaffenburg I have to think of a quote I read in a book a few years ago:

Another day on the river saw them in Aschaffenburg, another former residence of a small prince. The castle with its four turrets looked impressive, but the pubs were dismal. They decided to sleep in the boat cabins.

I hope the pubs have improved since the first half of the 19th century :D.

    To be on topic:
5 mar 2016: Porta Nigra, Aarschot
22+23 apr 2016: Forms of Hands 16, Bönen
    19 may 2016: Carboon, Heerlen
    23 may 2016: Tuxedomoon, Heerlen
    4 jun 2016: Bunker noise 3, Aachen
    30 sep+1+2 oct: Summer's End, Chepstow
    14+15+16 october 2016: Maschinenfest, Oberhausen

And maybe Lorelei, waiting for more bands to be announced.

I already have a ticket. In the past years the lineup was always superb. :)

  • One advantage of being off work ill - lots of time to get the gig diary organised:

10th Feb: The Room, The Borderline
27th Feb: The Incredibly Strange Film Band, Hereford
    5th March: CRS Awards, Maltby
17th March: Los Bastardos Finlandeses, Brockley
    19th March: Lazuli, Colos-Saal Aschaffenburg
    26th March: District 97, Borderline
    3rd April: Muse, O2 Arena
    29th April: Lazuli/Fish, Islington
    1st May: Lazuli/Fish, Robin2 Bilston
    17th June: Lifesigns, Trading Boundaries
14th October: Francis Dunnery and co. Boston Music Rooms

Fingers crossed I actually make it to some of these...

Jan 23 Davy O'List Borderline, London
Jan 29-31 Giants of Rock weekend Butlins, Minehead
March 17-19 HRH Prog weeekend North Wales
March 26 District 97 Borderline, London

    Greetings, Uwe.

    BTW,
RPWL was absolutely breathtaking! A psychedelic horror trip. The 3 excerpts I took at the show can be viewed here:

Highligt is, of course, "Careful with that Axe Eugine" at about 17:15.

Frequency Drift were good as well. However, as always, the lineup was heavily changed (except the 3 instant members).

For me, I must say that I love the former lineup at most. Well, the Theremin is a cool thing, but a bit I miss the extraordinary instruments like Cello, Violin, various flutes, horns, wavedrums etc, as well as the exalted stage apperance of the 'old' guitarrist, and most of all, the very lovely Isa on vocals...

    Greetings, Uwe.

P.S.: Here is the same song with the former lineup:

  • I'll be going to Manfred Mann'S Earthband next Wednesday (17.03.2016) in Münster / Jovel Music Hall.
I missed the gig in December at the Zeche (sold out), so Münster will be the choice. The Jovel is a cool location, was there several times at the 80's. Didn't know that it's still existing... :)
It will be my first MMEB gig, although I'm kinda fan since the late 70's.

    Greetings,
    Uwe.
