  • Hey Leo,

The latest news is that we had a minor hiccup in our progress. About 4 weeks ago now, we were about 50% done with our sound design, color grade etc when we got some insight into a few structural fixes to the cut of the film. So we thought about the changes and decided to unlock our picture locked edit and recut the film a tad. So we have been making the changes to the cut of the film for the past few weeks and are getting closer to having picture lock again. The changes we've made already are worth the extra time and labor tenfold.

So while this pushes back the release date a touch it will be for the better. We're very excited to be reaching the end and can't wait to share it with everyone. We're just starting to look into venues for screenings, with a potential screening already in London at some point this summer. Hopefully many more to come in the months ahead.

I'd love to answer more questions if anyone else has them. We're getting closer!

Also...The Road of Bones...I can't wait!!! We're already listening to the samples on repeat in the editing room. So excited for this.

  • Thanks for the update, I'm really curious about the final result and I hope that at least one screening will happen not too far away from here.

What about doing some double features? First the movie, then a gig?

Should be easy. Sound on the PA, set up a canvas on stage and then use Dene's projector. I know he has three of them! ;-)

  • I'd love to do a double bill. I fear that it might be a very long evening, but if anyone can handle it I think it'd be IQ fans. :D

We plan on submitting to festivals all over the world, so hopefully everyone will get a chance to see it somewhere close to their home. We're starting to build our contacts for places to screen it which will hopefully continue to grow as we approach our release.

  • Behind-The-Scenes of Subterranea: The Movie
    Episode 1-The Origin
Director Mathew Miller evolves the progressive rock masterpiece Subterranea into a feature film, retaining the cryptic essence of the classic album while spinning an incredible visual story.
IQ's own vocalist Peter Nicholls and guitarist Michael Holmes, with actor William Katt (Greatest American Hero) join Miller in introducing "the beginning" of this journey in the first of five Behind-The-Scenes episodes.
Though filmed in Montana, U.S.A. this film looks like it existes somewhere much deeper, and much much darker than The Big Sky state.

  • Anyone care to give any update on this project as it seems to have gone very quiet on this subject. Last message from Matt in November saying lots of things coming and then radio silence.
Think we are a bit over due.
